It’s well known that it takes time for symptoms of any chronic health conditions to show up. Your body is doing its best to heal, and if, for any reason, it cannot do it naturally, it will let you know by presenting you with symptoms. Look at it as signals your body is sending to you asking for help. The first set of symptoms are either silent or, in most cases, are overlooked by you or by your doctors.

At the same time, it will save you health, money and time to learn how to listen and identify the signals your body is so willingly giving to you all the time. No, you don’t have to be a hypochondriac to address your health concerns promptly, however you have to know that unaddressed problems have a tendency to get worse. And if your problem is not addressed it is up to you to persist searching for answers that make sense.

In my personal opinion, the majority of doctors don’t ask the right questions during your yearly wellness check or sick visit. Our conventional medicine relies on standard cookie-cutter tests to provide cookie-cutter medication or advice that might have nothing to do with your real situation. Every day I see frustrated and let down by standard healthcare patients, unaware that better diagnostics and solutions exist.

The good news is once properly identified, many of your health conditions will improve and in many cases completely heal. It will require your active participation and willingness to change the ways that made you sick in the first place. It is the main difference between conventional and alternative care – an active participation. I like that approach for myself – it gives me a sense of personal power when I realize that I have tools and methods to improve my life in every way possible.

Read on for 10 hidden signs that could mean you may have an undiagnosed chronic health condition:

Warning! The trick is that these symptoms by themselves might not be indicative of anything serious, however, in conjunction with other symptoms it creates a disease pattern to be aware of. Remember, we are always looking for a root cause to identify and treat.

  1. Persistent Fatigue: Feeling excessively tired, even after adequate rest, could be a sign of conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome, anemia, or thyroid disorders. It also might indicate adrenal insufficiency, anemia, digestive problems, inability to absorb nutrients, hormonal imbalance, and much more.
  2. Unexplained Weight Changes: Significant, unexplained weight gain or loss could indicate underlying health issues such as thyroid problems, gut inflammation and dysbiosis, diabetes, or hormonal imbalances.
  3. Frequent Digestive Issues: Chronic gastrointestinal problems like acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may be signs to opt for an extensive digestive evaluation to carefully examine every aspect of your digestive system. Too many chronic health conditions occur due to underlying gut imbalances. I believe in many cases it is the first place we should look.
  4. Recurring Headaches: Frequent or severe headaches could be linked to conditions like migraines, tension headaches, or high blood pressure. Headache can easily indicate gut inflammation and food sensitivities. Careful examination of other symptoms, lifestyle, nutrition, and test results can help us identify the location and the root cause of the inflammation.
  5. Persistent Joint Pain: Chronic joint pain might be a symptom of conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, microbiome imbalance, leaky gut, or autoimmune diseases.
  6. Skin Changes: Changes in the skin, like eczema, unusual rashes, dryness, or discoloration, could be associated with autoimmune disorders. I see it a lot with severe gut microbiome imbalances, systemic toxicity, mold mycotoxin infection, yeast and candida infections.
  7. Breathing Difficulties: If you frequently experience shortness of breath or other respiratory issues, it might be related to food sensitivities, allergies, and chronic unresolved emotional trauma.
  8. Cognitive Changes: Memory problems, concentration issues, or mood swings could be signs of neurological conditions, depression, or anxiety. They are notorious in cases of a neurotransmitter imbalance and underlying undiagnosed infections. Also, food sensitivities play a big role in mood swings, as it creates irritation in your gut. Gluten sensitivities had been linked to mood swings. We can test that.
  9. Frequent Infections: Repeated infections like urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, or skin infections might be related to underlying immune system issues or conditions like diabetes. Suppressed immune system can be an indication of something seriously wrong going on with your body. It also can be a symptom of severe microbiome imbalance, and nutritional deficiency.
  10. Changes in Urination: Frequent urination, changes in urine color, or difficulty urinating could be signs of kidney disease, diabetes, or urinary tract problems. That could be a sign of a urinary tract infection, or problems with your digestive system. It may seem uncomfortable to discuss these topics with a healthcare provider, but it is crucial to talk about it. Remember, early detection and treatment can make all the difference.

If you have one or more of these issues, please don’t hesitate to talk to me or your health provider who are both willing and able to discover and treat the root cause of the problem. Undiagnosed and untreated health issues get worse, medication often covers up the root cause and creates side effects that confuse the whole situation even further.
