When I talk about happiness, I am not referring to a utopian state where everything is perfect. Rather, my definition of happiness is living a life of awareness and purpose. It’s about setting goals and achieving them with contentment and fulfillment. It’s about making positive contributions to the lives of those around us.

Today, I want to share three practical, action-oriented (and ancient) secrets that can set you on the path to a happier life. I learned them not from the books but first from wise teachers and from making these secrets a part of my life.

1. You are the creator of your reality.

While you didn’t choose your birthplace or family, these factors don’t define your destiny. Your fate began to take shape when you realized there was something more you desired but didn’t yet have. This realization created a possibility of acquired beliefs to ultimately guide your actions.

Your original beliefs come from your upbringing and social surroundings. They shape your understanding of the world, self-perception, and attitude towards life events. But remember, these are not inherently your beliefs. You adopted them in the absence of other perspectives.

But what happens when you have goals and desires that seem unattainable? Instead of blaming circumstances and creating excuses, look inward. Examine your beliefs – are they creating obstacles on your path to success? Changing these internal beliefs takes time and dedication, but it is possible. By doing so, you can draw closer to achieving what you want in life.
