For many people, one of the worst feelings to have is to feel powerless. For many, this powerlessness becomes chronic, little by little, and it penetrates their lives until they feel its chains wrapped around them.

It’s a huge topic about choices, personal power, faith, and so much more. But today, I want to talk about a topic that is very relevant to everyday life – the topic of stress.

As always, all I’m sharing with you is a result of first-hand clinical experience and observing the natural law of nature. And it’s based on many years of creating and refining good results.

What Is and What Is Not Stress?

Stress is very much related to feeling powerless. And it can be chronic, morphing into a neverending internal conflict, inability to make a decision, and feeling unworthy. For some, it creates a motivation to action, and it’s a good thing, but it should be in check and regarded as such – momentum only.

Is there such a thing as chronic stress? People say, “I have a lot of stress in my life.” Or “stress makes everything worse”.

It’s like Stress is its own thing, like rain, and it’s something external of you to be reckoned with! You can even be prescribed medication to deal with your stress.

There is no such thing. Let me redefine Stress for you. Everything will make so much more sense, and it will get better. You will be able to identify and remove it from your life. Not immediately, but soon enough.

Stress and Your Personal Story
You (we all are) live in a story, or a set of stories we created for ourselves, mostly subconsciously, mostly from our parents, some from fairy tales and movies, some from social media. You have beliefs and values that support your life story. However, by default, being subconscious, it might not support your life anymore. It’s old. The values and beliefs, being also subconscious, also don’t serve you anymore. Especially if you made a conscious decision to change something in your life to recreate or modify your life in a new way.
You need a new story but don’t know how to get out of the old one because it runs so deep.

And that creates internal conflict. You keep running on automatic thought patterns, creating automatic behaviors, while simultaneously wanting something else to happen in your life. And, habitually, you enter a danger zone of victimhood mentality – finding something, somebody, your past, your younger self, or even yourself to blame for things going wrong.

And here, we are entering a very big topic of personal power and what it means for your life.

You don’t have “Stress”. You have a Reaction to Stimuli.

Stimuli can be in front of you, or it can be in your mind in the form of a thought or a memory. Nevertheless, it is your own reaction, which is good news. Why it’s good, you ask? Because you reaction solely belongs to you, and you can do with it anything you want. You can choose the reaction that will improve your life and lead to much better results.

At least, now you can make a conscious decision that it is possible to choose your reaction, even if you previously thought it was impossible. It’s all on you, and that is good news!

The Danger of Blame
Every time you find yourself blaming anything, you lose your power bit by bit until you become a leaf in the wind of chance. Any sense of power you have in these circumstances is an illusion because it can be taken from you at any moment by the next circumstances, and then you have to work hard to get it back.
That illusion intensifies internal conflict and resulting instability. It creates a power struggle and interferes with sleep, digestion, and peace of mind. Until you stop shifting responsibility from yourself to anything/anyone else, you will suffer from so-called “stress”.

Having Power is the opposite of engaging in Power Struggle.

Take your Power Back.

The topic of personal power is foundational. Without it, any improvements are temporary. You don’t have to start with that; however, having it in mind while making smaller changes is important. And by changes, I mean lifestyle, health-related, emotional, etc.

My patients who acknowledge, prioritize and actively work towards reclaiming their personal power consistently show faster and lasting improvements in every area of their lives compared to those who focus solely on their physical symptoms.

I hope that I have planted a seed of possibility in your mind. As it sprouts and grows, will change the landscape of your life, a life free of blame and responsibility shifting. It will help to create a beautiful life of interconnectedness, faith, and being in the flow.
