The research is being conducted at the most prominent scientific labs in the world to quickly find a cure and vaccine for COVID-19. We have lots of breakthroughs and studies undergoing. The researchers understood the molecular difference between COVID-19 and other coronavirus and what makes it so contentious and what can make it fragile to medical and holistic treatments. 

This post is not about supplementation, it’s about how the specifics of your lifestyle can weaken and disarm this virus.

How to INCREASE your MELATONIN NATURALLY

Coronaviruses like SARS-CoV-2 use viroporins to STIMULATE immune responses as part of their pathogenicity. 

COVID-19 uses 2 viroporins ORF3a and E protein which play critical roles in virus replication and pathogenesis. Together they create huge havoc on the respiratory system and activate of NLRP3 inflammasomes, resulting in the overproduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines. And all of this might be responsible for the rapid development of bilateral interstitial pneumonia.

Melatonin is a potent inhibitor of NLRP3.

Melatonin is well known for its regulation of biological functions tied to circadian rhythms. Numerous studies have revealed that melatonin exerts effects beyond the control of that. 

For most people, peak melatonin production is between the hours of 2 am to 3 am. Young children have extremely high melatonin levels, compared to adults. The maximum levels recorded for children showed a decline as age increased. As we age the natural melatonin level decreases.

This is why children rarely exhibit mild or even no symptoms at all, even though they have been infected by SARS-CoV-2!

Not everybody can take melatonin due to side effects, medication, intolerance, etc. 

But you can increase your melatonin yourself. This is how.

Melatonin is primarily released from your pineal gland. 

It is also created from serotonin. Serotonin is created in the brain and in the gut from tryptophan (but it’s a different topic).

So, to increase melatonin you need to naturally increase serotonin and activate your pineal gland!

1. Learn to feel happy: Many people will not be going to work for a while. Even though it is a financial strain, you have more time for yourself and/or spending time with your family. 

Some people have to work on increasing their level of happiness and it’s ok. Feeling unhappy can be a powerful habit leading to a miserable life that some consider normal. It is not normal. Happiness is actually being content with what you have. If you travel to third world countries (not now!) you know what I mean. 

Old “belief systems” aka “thought patterns” coming from upbringing, etc. play a major role in how you view the world. Something like “World is a dangerous place” or “I’m not enough” or “I have to have <this thing> to feel happy” etc. If your thought patterns don’t make you happy and don’t increase your serotonin, consider changing them. It will make your world a beautiful place to enjoy.

2. Sunshine: that’s about it, go stand in the sunlight and smile. Smiling is a crucial part of it! 😉

3. Food: there are food sources that increase serotonin. Foods rich in tryptophan. Some foods are plant-based and some animal-based. It is widely available information, so research it and make a decision. Junk foods make everything worse, so learn to eliminate them from your diet.

Activating Pineal Gland

Your pineal gland (“third eye”) affects every system in your body. It also governs the psychic awareness of your mind – your intuition. Even if you don’t believe in psychic phenomena you know that intuition is a thing and you have it.

  • Eat good fresh food, consider going vegetarian/vegan and supplementing with vitamins. 
  • Give up junk foods, toxic thoughts, toxic people, and judgements. Life is precious and so are you!
